Cayuga's natural landscape divides 350 acres into two separate campuses on the same estate. This unique feature distinguishes Cayuga from other traditional summer camps! Each campus is located on opposite sides of the lake, and operates self-sufficiently with its own Dining Hall, Gymnasium, Creative Arts Center, Swimming Pool, Activity Sites, and Health Center. With two separate campuses, we can provide two separate programs that are geared to the different age groups on each campus.
Teen Campus is reserved for teenagers entering 8th to 11th grade who are 13 years of age or older before camp. It’s a small community where everyone knows one another (75-85 girls & 75-85 boys). The Teen Campus Program focuses on the interests of teenagers, and provides the best opportunity to learn and have fun with their peers! This summer several teenagers will travel from across the United States and Europe to participate in Cayuga's Teen Program. Note: Campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old have the option to reside on Junior Campus.
One of the most popular features of Teen Campus is its time schedule. The daily program operates about 20 minutes behind Junior Campus, which gives you some extra time to sleep-in! After the dinner meal, you have free time to fraternize and hang-out, until flagpole assembly at 8:20pm. You’ll also enjoy the privilege of ‘open seating’ during lunch meals, where you can sit with whomever you wish. Ordinarily you sit with your cabin counselors & cabinmates. Some activities and special events are offered only on Teen Campus, such as foil fencing, weight training, mud run, and color run. Late-night pool parties are popular too! The curfew is also later than Junior Campus with ‘lights-out’ at 11:00pm
Your day is action-packed! Each morning after breakfast, you get together with your friends and plan-out your activity schedule for the day. You’ll choose from over 60 activities including competitive sports, non-competitive sports, outdoor adventure activities, extreme sports, and the arts. The Teen Campus Program is 100% free-choice.
Supervision is just as important on Teen Campus, as it is on Junior Campus. After you make your activity selections, they’re copied onto Activity Rosters that are used to take attendance at the beginning of each period. You must attend your activities! While the activity program is in progress, the Elective Program Staff are always available to assist you with your program questions. They keep copies of all rosters for each activity for each period of the day.
The regular schedule includes 7 periods each day. The first period is a ‘sign-up’ period for your electives. Each activity period is an hour, which includes 10-minute travel time between activities. We meet at flagpole twice a day for flag lowering & raising. Evening Activities begin at 8:30pm. There’s a different evening activity each night of the week!

Three days a week we follow a 'Late Breakfast' schedule. On these days, the teenagers sleep-in an extra 30 minutes and wake-up at 8:50am.
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, where we emphasize being yourself and de-emphasize fashion. The population is large enough to provide a challenging & varied program, and small enough to allow everyone to get to know one another. It’s just the right size to maintain the family atmosphere that characterizes Camp Cayuga. Each summer includes a healthy mixture of new and returning campers. The ‘welcoming feeling’ around campus makes it easy to adjust and make friends.
